What ARE they teaching our Kids?

AAUW and the Morgan Hill Unified School District collaborated in May for a panel discussion on hot-topic curricula, including ethnic studies, sex ed and social-emotional learning.

The event, titled “What ARE They Teaching Our Kids?” drew between 50 and 60 people to the Morgan Hill Library for a two-hour discussion among three MHUSD administrators, three teachers, two students (our Young Women Leaders Ishq Kandhra and Kaylyn Nguyen), and DEI representative Kat Napoli. Teachers brought course materials for attendees to examine and answered questions from the audience. Public Policy chair Susan Rife organized and moderated the event.

The discussion was well-received and the school district has indicated an interest in working together on future events.
